This is THE most adventurous winter and spring tour Iceland has to offer. First we choose the glacier in which we traverse upon in our big Super Jeeps (weather dependent). Upon reaching the edge of the glacier, we deflate our tires. Picture this: Big super jeeps floating on snow covered glaciers with anxious passengers awestruck of the surroundings. The views of the mountains are simply incredible. Our glacier experts then lead us to the perfect camping spot. We all pitch in to set up the camp and prepare a meal for the group. Because we are so far away from artificial light, we have a good chance to see the Northern Lights (most likely between Nov-Mar). The next morning we make our way back down the glacier and visit natural sights along the way before going lava caving. Come and explore the hidden world in and under the lava field located in the Blue Mountains. The Leiðarendi cave is the epitome of an Icelandic lava tube quite unlike anything else. On your underworld adventure, you will see the magical rock formations left behind in the last volcanic eruption. During the winter, the cave is likely to be filled with glistening icicles of all shapes and sizes, a sight not soon forgotten. We will crawl and walk on our journey beneath the surface making it a real caving experience. The Underworld is an exotic and unorthodox trip for those that are not afraid of the dark. There is absolutely no better way to see first hand how Iceland was created. We are back in Reykjavik by late afternoon.
